Fined $300 for public obscenity

A MAN who yelled obscenities in front of the Ipswich courthouse found himself back in court this week.

Trinity Atkinson was walking away from the courthouse on February 1 when he began yelling various insults and swear words – too obscene to publish – telling another person he would “take” or fight them.

A group of police officers were also in the area and told Atkinson, 17, to calm down, but he told them to go away using the same vulgar language.

Atkinson walked towards the road where he continued to yell abuse at the unknown person.

Atkinson was arrested and was fined $300 after pleading guilty in Ipswich Magistrates Court to committing a public nuisance.
