Fine for hit and run

A MAN who ploughed into another vehicle and fled the accident said he was worried about what his passengers would do if he did stop.

Ipswich Magistrates Court heard Rodney Wayne Benson collided with the car on August 12 at Gailes and failed to stop.

The court heard Benson had failed to stop because he was concerned about the passengers in his vehicle causing a disturbance and he wasn't insured.

The 43-year-old was fined $500.
