Festive spectacular will impress

TOP local performers are gearing up for the Brassall Christmas in the Park spectacular at Suttons Park on Friday night.

Yamanto singer and dancer Krystel Spark, at 17 years of age, will make her first appearance on the Suttons Park stage.

"I'll be performing two Christmas carols - Silent Night and Grown-Up Christmas List," she said.

"Christmas List is quite modern and about reflecting on your childhood."

Organising committee president Councillor Cheryl Bromage said planning for the Brassall event started late, in July, due to the Ipswich flood recovery.

"The night is about taking time to sit back and relax and forget for a short time what an annus horribilis it has been," she said.

"There are free rides, face painting and fireworks, and Santa will arrive at the carols at 7pm.

"We have a comedy duo doing a Kath and Kim Christmas number, which will go down a treat."
