Feral Bells ring as writer visits

QUEENSLAND author of smash-hit rom-com Feral Bells, Peta-Jo, will be signing copies of her book at A Lot Of Books in the Ipswich Mall on Saturday from 2pm.

Peta-Jo is a former QT journalist.

Feral Bells won the Queensland Arts Council's New Regional Writer Scholarship, and has since been picked up by the international book distribution company Bermingham Books, founded by Four Ingredients author Rachael Bermingham.

Feral Bells charts the unlikely course of a Townsville woman who is "not" looking for love.

"I think Lydia's story is pretty common for women in Australia, of having to leave their hometowns to better their lot," Peta-Jo said.

"This is a funny look at how people adjust, or don't adjust, to a life away from their families."
