Federal funds for four Ipswich road projects
FOUR Ipswich road projects have been given the green light through the Federal Government's Nation Building Black Spot program.
The Federal Government has approved $3.122 million to complete four projects:
- Traffic signals to be introduced at the intersection of Edwards and Raceview streets and Ripley Rd, Flinders View - $709,000;
- Overhead traffic signals, right turn lanes and phasing modifications at the intersection of Briggs and Cemetery roads, Raceview - $163,000;
- Implementation of road safety audit recommendations including intersection widening, improvement to safety barriers, shoulder widening and the removal and relocation of roadside hazards along the 3km length of Wulkuraka Connection Rd, Karrabin - $2 million and;
- Installation of a right turn and the associated kerb and channel works to be introduced at the intersection of Jacaranda and Cook streets, East Ipswich - $250,000.
Councillor Cheryl Bromage said that the work on the projects would take place during the 2015-16 financial year.
