Father drink drives two days after nearly killing daughter

A RAINBOW Beach man who crashed his car with his daughter on board got the fright of his life, Gympie Magistrates Court heard on Thursday.

Bradley Paul Guest, 46, was charged with driving without due care and attention and drink driving. The first charge arose from an accident on December 16, when Guest's car tumbled down an embankment on Maryborough-Cooloola Rd after he fell asleep.

Earlier, his car crossed lines and took out a road marker. The drink driving charge two days later produced a 0.081 reading at Cooloola Cove.

"I wasn't thinking straight after nearly killing my daughter," Guest said. He pleaded guilty to both charges and was disqualified from driving for three months and fined $590, referred to SPER.
