Families enjoy fun in sun

FAMILIES made the most of summer yesterday at Brookwater Golf and Country Club's free fun day.

The Summer Family Fun Day featured rides for the kids, live music and entertainment, outdoor activities, Australian wildlife demonstrations, tennis clinics and food and market stalls.

Brookwater deputy managing director Raynuha Sinnathamby said the day was originally scheduled during the 2011 floods but had been rescheduled for last weekend.

“The Brookwater Summer Family Fun Day is all about getting together with family and friends for a community celebration in the wake of the devastating floods that occurred in and around Brisbane earlier this year,” Ms Sinnathamby said.

The club's fresh food and lifestyle market was held at the same time, with adults able to browse an array of local gourmet produce, unique gifts and designer home wares.
