Fallen tree cuts power to 1500

MORE than 1500 Ipswich residents lost power this afternoon afternoon after a tree fell onto powerlines at Camira.

An Energex spokesman said homes and businesses were affected in Goodna, Camira and Gailes, however police also reported loss of power at Bundamba Swim Centre.

Power was cut off about 2.45pm and restored by 3.30pm after Energex workers cleared the branches from the powerlines at Cairns Road, Camira.
