Faith Lutheran student's Choc Top 2.0 creation

AT just 13, Lachlan Holman has created an icy masterpiece that is pleasing tastebuds across the country.

The Grade 8 Faith Lutheran College student created his "Choc Top 2.0" as part of a unique Event Cinemas competition.

"It's really cool," Lachlan said.

"It all started with a competition on Event Cinemas website and people had to vote for their favourite ice-creams with the top 3 finalists," Lachlan said.

Lachlan worked hard to pick only the best ingredients for his creation, choosing cookie dough as the flavour for the ice-cream with crunchy cookie and honey comb pieces too.

His ice-cream was so popular it was one of the top three finalists.

As a finalist, Lachlan's ice-cream will be sold at Event Cinemas across the country.

"They will be selling it for three weeks and whoever sells the most at Event Cinemas is overall winner," he said.

Having already tried it himself, Lachlan said he was confident of his ice-cream being a high seller.

"I had a double scoop of it and it was really yummy," he said.

"I think people would really like it and it does taste good.

"Hopefully (I win), I think I've got a good chance because so far I have had so many positive comments about my delicious ice-cream."

Lachlan was even out and about at Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinemas in Ipswich last week for a meet and greet to promote his ice-cream.

"It's been an amazing experience and it doesn't matter what the outcome is I still made an ice-cream and it's on sale to people and for me that's a win," he said.
