Ex-advisor wants police notebooks as Flegg faces heat

A LAWYER acting for the whistleblower who revealed information resulting in senior Queensland MP Bruce Flegg's resignation is seeking police notebooks and an occurrence log from the investigation.

Former media advisor Graeme Hallett is charged over alleged demands and threats he made to the government after he was dumped from the then housing minister's office in 2012.

After his departure, Mr Hallett claimed there were discrepancies in Dr Flegg's ministerial diary, which was released under Right to Information laws.

Dr Flegg resigned from his ministerial position the day after the claims arose.

He has since launched defamation action against Mr Hallett.

While Mr Hallett's lawyer already has the brief of evidence on the case, he sought a three-week adjournment to obtain the extra documents.

Magistrate Linda Bradford-Morgan granted the adjournment to September 8 and enlarged bail for Mr Hallett, who is not required to attend.
