Elders staff face lay-offs
ELDERS' staff across the country were told last night of potential lay-offs and office shut-downs as part of a company restructure.
The agribusiness notified the stock exchange of the restructure on Tuesday afternoon, outlining a returned focus to agriculture after selling off its forestry assets.
A spokeswoman for the company said discussions were under way with staff at smaller rural and regional offices on Wednesday night.
The company told the stock exchange that "a small number of rural and regional offices would be closed or consolidated into larger nearby branches".
