Elderly man injured in horse fall

AN elderly man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a horse at a property near Esk.

A spokesman from the Department of Community Safety said the man, aged in his 80s, was riding the horse on a property at Biarra, 80km north-west of Ipswich, when the accident happened about 11am.

He was winched to safety and taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with suspected chest injuries.

His condition was described as stable.
