Egg-cellent appeal aids needy folk

EASTER is fast approaching and it is important to remember those in our community who may not be able not afford all the trimmings that come with it.

The Queensland Times Adopt-a-Family Appeal will continuing into the Easter period this year. Co-ordinator Bernadette Mohr said the good work from the appeal was an all-year-round effort.

"The QT charity trust not only supports families during Christmas time. Easter is a special time as well and we support families at the women's shelter and the Ipswich Hospital mental health unit with Easter goodies," she said.

Together with Reading Cinemas at Redbank Plaza, the QT will take donations at the screening of The Pirates! Band of Misfits at 11am on Sunday, April 1.

Ms Mohr said Reading Cinemas staff would collect chocolate eggs and bunnies as patrons entered.
