Easts planning to follow Northsiders

AS strange as it may sound, Northsiders Cricket Club may provide additional hope that hockey can rebuild its A-grade structure.

Ipswich Hockey president Margret Mantell likened the current men's player drain situation to that of Northsiders a few years ago.

"They needed a year out of the Division 1 comp in 2014/15 after losing several key players but that didn't sound the death knell,'' she said.

"They worked to rebuild and were back in the competition in 2015/16, having just the one season out of the top grade.

"I know Easts are determined to do all they can to rebuild and again field an A-grade team in 2017.''
