Early morning delivery of new-look Rotorua Daily Post

History was made this morning as the new-look Rotorua Daily Post was revealed.

The new compact format paper was delivered to letterboxes early this morning.

Some Rotorua residents, including Todd McClay and 'Aunty' Bea Yates, had their papers hand delivered by Rotorua Daily Post staff, who were wearing their bath robes.

Starting the day with the new-look Rotorua Daily Post was a breath of fresh air for readers Mrs Yates and Mr McClay.

The two were visited at their homes at the crack of dawn.

"I love the handling of it,'' Aunty Bea said.

"The size is good for me, it's easier to hold. It's like a breath of fresh air - the change is good with plenty of things to read.''

Mr McClay was out for a run when he saw the Rotorua Daily Post heading towards his home.

"I like [the new look] a lot,'' he said.

"I think it's excellent. I was able to read it at the breakfast bar while the kids got ready for school. It doesn't take up the whole space, which means I am less likely to get their cereal on my paper.''
