Two arrested after fire destroys abandoned house

TWO people have been arrested and charged in relation to a fire which destroyed an abandoned house in North Ipswich this morning.

The massive fire broke out at the Lowry St address about 3am.

Neighbours living in a unit block next door were evacuated as the flames began to spread to the building.

Fire crews extinuished the blaze about 3.20am.

No one was injured.

A 23-year-old Leichhardt man and a 33-year-old North Ipswich man were both charged with one count each of endangering property by fire.

The men are due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrate's Court today.

The house is currently being guarded as investigations into the incident continue.
