Charges laid after drug raids on Toowoomba City unit complex

DRUG raids on a Toowoomba City unit complex have resulted in charges against four people from two separate units.

Marijuana, stolen property and drug-related items were allegedly uncovered in yesterday's search.

A 22-year-old man was charged with offences including supplying a dangerous drug, possessing a dangerous drug and stealing.

A 21-year-old man, 19-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, all from the same complex, were also charged with drug offences.

It came after three separate searches on Saturday and Sunday netted about 400g of marijuana, drug utensils and other crime-related property.

As a result, a 36-year-old Wilsonton man, a 19-year-old Wilsonton man and a 45-year-old North Toowoomba man were charged with drug offences.

Darling Downs District Tactical Crime Squad officer-in-charge Scott Stahlhut said illicit drug use had identifiable impacts on the wider community.

"These investigations highlight the apparent link between drug use and property crime," Senior Sergeant Stahlhut said.
