Sixteen charged after drug raids in Hervey Bay and M'boro

SIXTEEN people have been charged with a total of 26 drug-related crimes after police executed search warrants at several properties in Hervey Bay and Maryborough yesterday morning.

Police said a working drug lab was found at a Hervey Bay home on Boat Harbour Dr, with four people charged in relation to the discovery of the laboratory.

Two of the people charged were remanded in custody and all four will appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Friday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Nikki Colfs said police planned to object to bail being granted for the people in custody.

Other homes and cars were also searched as part of the operation and police allegedly uncovered quantities of marijuana, amphetamines and ecstasy tablets at the properties, as well as drug utensils.

Det Snr Sgt Colfs said the police had acted on tip-offs from the public when executing the raids.
