Drink-driving charge after car fire

A MAN was charged with drink driving after his car caught fire at Walloon on Wednesday night.

Firefighters were called to Flametree Ct about 7.45pm, with a Holden wagon well alight by the time they arrived.

Two men wore breathing apparatus while extinguishing the flames.

They were unable to save the car.

It was believed a mechanical fault caused the fire.

Police later breath tested the driver and he allegedly blew over the 0.05% limit.

He will face court at a later date.
