Drink-driver off the road for eight months

DAMON Ian McNeilage, 51, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in Ipswich on September 17.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Matt Donnelly said police intercepted him for a random breath test at 11.45am.

McNeilage said he had consumed four 375ml cans of beer that morning as well as a large amount of alcohol the previous night.

His test revealed he was over the drinking limit.

He was fined $800 and disqualified from holding a driver's licence for eight months.
