Drifters converge for final meet

THE rubber is set to fly tonight when Queensland Raceway hosts the final instalment of its Friday Night Drifting for 2010.

Throughout 2010, Queensland Raceway has hosted 20 rounds of the highly successful series, with up to 100 competitors per event taking to the track under lights.

Designed as a social evening for drifters of all skill levels, Friday Night Drifting has continued to grow through 2010, despite a decline in numbers at the top end of the sport.

A crowd of between 500 and 1000 spectators regularly attends Friday Night Drifting, enjoying an evening of watching the on-track action, admiring the machinery in pit lane and catching up with friends – all for $10 per person.

Gates open for spectators at 4.30pm today, with on-track action firing up from 6pm and wrapping up by 10pm.

The first Friday Night Drifting date scheduled for 2011 is January 21.
