Draft national curriculum released

THE draft national curriculum for English, mathematics, science and history in senior high school was released on Friday.

It was the next step in the development of the new national curriculum, and will mean all Year 11 and 12 students are assessed against the same curriculum.

Education Minister Peter Garrett said the first four subjects were already in place from the start of primary school to Year 10.

He said curricula were also being developed for the arts, geography and languages.
