Dozen crews called in to battle warehouse blaze

A DOZEN fire crews were needed to control a fire burning in a Brisbane warehouse on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to Queensport Road South in Murarrie about 8.30am, where they found a 30-metre by 50-metre building on fire at the Brisbane Drum Exchange.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said 12* crews rushed to the scene and officers with breathing apparatus fought the fire from the inside of the building using foam.

She said the blaze, which started at the rear of the warehouse, was brought under control about 8.55am, but couldn't give details of any damage to the building.

It's understood workers from nearby businesses were evacuated.
