Disqualified driver had kids unrestrained

POLICE allegedly pulled over a disqualified driver who had two unrestrained children in the car with him.

The man's car was intercepted in Hudson St, Kalbar, on October 24, after officers noticed the unrestrained passengers.

Checks revealed the 30-year-old from Clumber, near Aratula, had been disqualified from holding a licence and was a repeat offender - resulting in the vehicle being immobilised for 90 days.

Police alleged the driver also returned a positive roadside drug test.

Police will await the return of laboratory tests before finalising charges against the driver.
