Discover the museum's rich history
EXPLORE the Workshops Rail Museum at North Ipswich and find out more about the locomotives they house by going on a tour with the museum's curator.
You will hear the history of the site and learn lots of interesting facts along the way.
The curator tour will be held every Wednesday in February, beginning at 11.15am.
After the tour you are free to wander through the many exhibits which are currently on display.
Some of the current exhibitions include a room for wild animals, where you can get up close and personal with a grizzly bear or a lion, Mephisto, a World War I tank which is on display, the model railway, where you can see hundreds of miniature trains moving around the track, and plenty more.
A day at the Workshops Rail Museum is sure to be a fun day out for the entire family.
There is a cafe onsite or you can bring your own picnic to enjoy.
Entry to the museum is $14.50 for adults, $12.50 for concession card holders and $11.50 for children. Kids aged three and under are free.
The Workshops Rail Museum is located on North St, North Ipswich.
They are open daily from 9.30am-4pm.
