A day in the country for city slickers

THE country will come to the city on March 5 to celebrate everything great about Aussie country music.

To be staged in d'Arcy Doyle Place, the event will feature guest performances from country music stars Livi Robins and the Smashing Bumpkins, as well as food markets and a bucking bull simulator.

There will also be live performances from entrants to the country music competition that will be hosted as part of the free family event.

The winner will get a recording session at Studio 188.

The contest runs 1-5pm, with a country music bush dance from 6-8pm.
