Darling Downs man arrested after axe rampage in CBD

A DARLING Downs man who allegedly stole an axe handle from a hardware store and attempted to rob a noodle bar has been charged with several offences by police.

Dalby Police arrested a 37-year-old local man after the alleged incident on Cunningham St on Friday afternoon about 4pm.

Senior Constable Jamie Leonard said police would allege the man stole an axe handle from a nearby Mitre 10 and then went to the local noodle bar, threatening staff and demanding money.

The man will face the Dalby Magistrate's Court on January 10 on numerous charges, including public nuisance, common assault, and attempted robbery.
