Ex-boyfriend: ‘I’m an a**hole’

THE boyfriend of a woman who died after falling from the 11th floor of a luxury Gold Coast flat has admitted he is an "a**hole" but denied he is a "dangerous man".

Speaking to Seven's Sunday Night, for an upcoming segment about the 2013 death of cheerleader Breeana Robinson, her former partner Dan Shearin was asked if he was a "dangerous man".

"I wouldn't say dangerous man. I'd say an a**hole," he said in the trailer that promises "new witnesses" and "clues overlooked" in the high-profile case.

As Bree Robinson lay dying, as volunteers tried desperately to save her, why did her boyfriend stand on the sidelines, calmly calling his lawyer? ...

Ms Robinson was 21 when she fell to her death from the high-rise flat she had lived in with Mr Shearin, 40, for just 38 days.

The former Gold Coast Titans cheerleader was legally blind from a congenital eye condition but had ambitions of becoming a dancer, according to friends.

In January, Queensland police said it would review evidence into the case including nearly 1500 belittling text messages sent by Mr Shearin, including comments like: "You're more interested in TV, food and everything else but your partner. That's why everything's ruined. Your priorities are f***ed up."

After her death he pleaded guilty to harassing her with messages, calling her a "complete f***ing moron", a "dumb c**t" and a "stupid b*tch". Shearin served 11 days of a two-month sentence, that was overturned on appeal and no one has been convicted over her death.

However Ms Robinson's family has never accepted she took her own life and inquest is due to examine what caused her death.

In February last year, Dan Shearin pleaded guilty to stalking a woman he had met on a dating website and had abused after she ended their relationship.

Shearin was placed on 12 months' probation for cyber stalking the woman he called a "sl**", a "bi***" and a "piece of s***".
