Cyclist suffers serious injuries after crash with car

A BICYCLE rider has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition following a collision with a vehicle at Coominya this morning.

Queensland Ambulance says the rider has a compound leg fracture and chest injuries as a result of the crash on the intersection of the Coominya Connection Rd and Vineyard Rd about 6.55am.

The 39-year-old male rider was treated at the scene, with ambulance calling on its high acuity response personnel for assistance, due to the nature of the injuries.

The rider was taken to the PA Hospital.

Police closed one lane for a short time but the road has since been reopened.
