Crooner set for battle

BEFORE the battle round of The Voice, Coolum's Darren Percival battled nerves so severe he thought he would have a heart attack.

But ahead of tonight's live performance, he said he was feeling better.

"Going into the live shows I'm feeling more confident than I had for the blinds and the battle," he said.

"I feel comfortable in that position. Early on in my career I did a lot of live TV and I always really enjoyed it.

"This is my chance to do everything I've always wanted to do."

Darren said he felt "blessed" to be part of a show which had taken Australia by storm and scored record ratings for Channel Nine.

"The timing of it is all so perfect. Australia has really embraced the show and the talent."

Australia is already falling in love with our local crooner with more than 100 people becoming fans of his Facebook page within minutes of him creating it.
