Crime scene established in missing persons case

9am: DETECTIVE Senior Sergeant Scott Moon confirmed forensic examinations at a North Rockhampton unit were linked with the disappearance of Rockhampton pair Chantal Barnett and Robert Martinez.

Police forensic teams have been examining the unit in Tomkys St, Berserker since Monday.

"We are examining the property in relation to the missing people, Martinez and Barnett," Det Snr Sgt Moon said today.

"As part of our investigation we're conducting a forensic examination of that property."

Barnett and Martinez have been missing since early February.

5am: THE search net for a missing Rockhampton pair appears to have shifted to a Berserker home.

Rockhampton police officers have set up a crime scene at a North Rockhampton unit in Tomkys St, but yesterday no one could confirm whether the scene was connected to missing pair Robert Martinez and Chantal Barnett.

A police media spokeswoman yesterday told The Morning Bulletin police had set up a forensic routine operation, to examine the unit, in relation to a missing persons case in Rockhampton.

Police say they are making steady progress with their investigations in a missing Rockhampton persons case that has been going on for almost seven months. Chantal Barnett and Robert Martinez have been missing since early February.

Despite a number of searches around Capricornia, including Pink Lily Lagoon, Gavial Creek at the end of Quay St, Mt Morgan and Mt Archer in Rockhampton, there has been little evidence found.
