Crews on standby as bushfires continue to plague the region
BUSHFIRES are continuing to burn at Greenbank, Little Mt Edwards and Grantham today.
A spokesman from the Department of Community Safety said the blaze in the Lockyer State Forest near Grantham was creating a significant smoke hazard on the Warrego Highway as it works its way through inaccessible country.
Multiple crews are keeping a close eye on the Greenbank fire, which is now safely within containment lines.
Firefighters are expected to remain in the area for several days.
High temperatures, moderate north-westerly winds and low humidity are forecast and extra crews are on standby.
South of Ipswich, at Little Mt Edwards, firefighters are monitoring a fire which has been burning all week.
