Crews called to large grass fire in conservation estate

FIRE crews from Ipswich and Logan have been called to a large grass fire in the Spring Mountain Conservation Reserve.

The fire is in inaccessible country between Spring Mountain and Greenbank where it has been burning for several days.

Queensland Fire and Rescue have stated the fire currently poses no threat to property; however, there is a large smoke haze in the area.

Motorists have been urged to drive with caution and to conditions while residents are advised to keep their doors and windows closed and if they suffer from respiratory illness, keep medication close by.

The fire is expected to burn within inaccessible country for the next week, if residents believe the situation has changed, and their home is under threat, QFRS said they should ring Triple Zero immediately.
