Crash knocks over power pole sparking grass fire

A FATHER and his one-year-old daughter escaped serious injury after the vehicle they were travelling in veered off Rosewood-Laidley Rd on Sunday.

The car hit a power pole, which fell to the ground causing a grass fire.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 11.45am and the male driver and young passenger were taken to Ipswich General Hospital with no suspected injuries.

Energex worked through the afternoon to remove powerlines from the road.
