Court date after assault on police

 A MAN will face court today charged with assaulting two police officers.

Police allege the 34-year-old struck one officer on the face and bit the hand and arm of another as they tried to arrest him at Ipswich Hospital, about 10.30pm Wednesday.

The officers had been called to the hospital after reports of a disturbance.

Both officers required medical treatment at the hospital.

An Ebenezer man has been charged with two counts of serious assault police, three counts of obstruct police and one count of public nuisance.

He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning.
