IF there's no other reason for the ladies to head along to Rockhampton's Beef Australia 2012 next week, then this face may persuade you.

Morgan Evans is this country singer's name, but he's not just your average country singer.

The 26-year-old Newcastle singer-songwriter said writing, playing and performing music had been a huge part of his life for as long as he could remember.

Now in 2012, having signed a major record deal with Warner Music Australia, Morgan believes he can finally describe his music career as "official", especially after supporting international superstars such as Taylor Swift.

His new five-track EP, Live Each Day, released in January, is proof that talent, belief and persistence are a winning combination.

"I started playing piano when I was five, got my first guitar at 13 and started gigging straight away," he said.

He has racked up many career milestones, including award nominations, a No.1 single and video, and other touring performances including Brooks and Dunn, Thirsty Merc, Shannon Noll and more. He cut his teeth as front-man and guitar singer for multi-award winning rock trio, Solver, whose accolades include Best Rock Act and Artist of the Year at the 2006 MusicOz Awards.

Catch Morgan at Beef Australia next week.
