Council cracks down on dodgy dumpers

Somerset Regional Council is pursuing action against several illegal dumpers.

In recent months the council has cracked down on people illegally littering or dumping in the region with the installation of surveillance cameras at known dumping hot spots and various warning signs that fines apply.

The council is taking action against people caught illegally dumping in Somerset in accordance with the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011.

Investigations by council officers into other known dumping or littering that occurred in May are ongoing.

Residents are encouraged to report illegal dumping and or littering in Somerset to the council on 5424 4000.
