Could this family be the Kardashians of Ipswich?
HER 15-year-old daughter has called it. "We might be the next Kardashians!"
While it was not quite what Ipswich mum Meltopia had in mind when coming on board Australian Regional Media's latest series Hey Mumma, she can't wait to see the series in motion as it kicks off on the Queensland Times' website this week.
We got four regional mums together with host, Australian swimming legend Susie O'Neill, and filmed a six-part series about everything to do with being a mum.
With weekly episodes going live every Monday, behind the scenes videos and stacks of hilarious and informative content, our new six-week series is one you that you really want to miss.
Meltopia said she applied to be on Hey Mumma to share her parenting journey with other mums.
"I felt like I had a story to tell," she said.
"I have had a lot of setbacks.
"I've battled cancer, severe post-natal depression, two marriages, done the single mum thing, worked full-time, moved interstate a lot - but I have always come out of the other side pretty much intact.
"I am in no way perfect, but I am much better for getting through those things."
Meltopia said she hoped other mothers would watch and get involved with the series.
"I want people to realise that we're all human and not to look at someone else and think they are perfect and you're not capable of doing just as well as them," she said.
"We're all trying the best we can and we need to rely on the sisterhood a lot more."
A little nervous about seeing herself on camera for the next month and a half, Meltopia said that she was excited just the same.
"About 70 of my friends have liked the Hey Mumma Facebook page - so they're all waiting for it!"
