Could Hanson already know when the election's happening?

ONE Nation leader Pauline Hanson has predicted the Queensland government could call an election as early as February out of fear for her party's growing support.

Senator Hanson yesterday announced an initial 36 candidates to contest state seats in the poll, which is due by early 2018, including US-born Donald Trump supporter Jane Truscott and former Liberal National Party MP Neil Symes.

"I think they'll (Labor) be panicking about the support that One Nation is getting around the state," Ms Hanson told ABC radio this morning when asked to explain her prediction of a February election announcement.
