Bunnings has recently opened its doors, and on the drawing board are plans for an Ikea along with a major expansion of the Westfield shopping centre.
But for the meantime, Costco is taking the limelight.
The wholesaler has already opened a small shop in Discovery Drive, North Lakes, inviting annual membership.
To shop at Costco you have to be a member. Cost of membership for businesses is $55 while individuals are $60.
The wholesaler stocks everything from groceries and electronics to clothing and cleaning supplies.
Costco has been in Australia since 2008, when construction of its Docklands operation started. It opened that facility one year later, and has since opened stores in Sydney's West and at Canberra.
