Coronor investigates death of Mount Lofty pilot

POLICE will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man in a light plane crash at Iredale, about 23km west of Gatton, yesterday morning.

The vintage aircraft the 52-year-old Mount Lofty man was piloting crashed soon after it took-off from Emu Gully airstrip.

The aircraft was found in a gully on Twidales Road, in an area known as Monkey Hole Creek, around 9.35am.

The man died at the scene.

A local resident, a 51-year-old man, sustained minor burn injuries when he attempted to help the pilot.
