'Cooler' days to follow today's scorcher

THE hot weather is set to continue with our highest maximum temperature for the week expected today.

Predictions are that Ipswich will reach a top of 38 degrees.

Across the region it will be even hotter with 38 degrees predicted in Oakey, 39 degrees in Dalby and 37 degrees in Warwick,  35 degrees in Toowoomba, while Stanthorpe will hit 34 degrees.

Ipswich will get some relief from the heat from tomorrow, with maximum temperatures at 30 - 31 degrees through to Monday.

There is a also chance of a thunderstorm tomorrow and showers on Thursday and Friday.
