Concert series to showcase culture

A SERIES of concerts presented by Harmony Support Links (HSL) in Ipswich will present the music of many cultures.

The first, later this month, explores Indo-Japanese music and singing through the talents of both Brisbane and Ipswich performers.

Carl Rathus will display his talents on the shakuhachi wind instrument which was introduced to Japan during the 8th century.

Concert organiser Sandra Kovac will sing Indian folk songs and classical music.

The Indo-Japanese concert will be held at the Humanities Bulding, 56 South St, from 6.30pm on Saturday June 30. The cost is $20.

Phone 3812 9161 or 0418 764 331 with inquiries.

The next HSL multicultural concert on August 26 will be Samoan.
