Woman found walking on Capricorn Hwy may be missing person

POLICE are trying to figure out where a woman's home address is after finding her walking along the Capricorn Highway.

The woman, who is believed to b 59-years-old, identifies herself as "Timothy".

A concern citizen called the police after finding the woman going through bins at the Stanwell shop.

The citizen had offered the woman water and tried talking to her, but she was not coherent.

It is believed the woman was reported to police as last seen in Caboolture in November 2015, but has a history with the New South Wales police from 1977 and 1989.

The woman is described to be about 60-years-old, wearing light grey and blue boardshorts, a grey workshirt, hat, dark backpack and another bag.

Police have given her more water and left her to continue to walk west along the highway. It is believed she has been identified as a 'grey nomad'.

EARLIER: MOTORISTS traveling along the Capricorn Highway are urged to keep an eye out for a woman walking along the road.

There are concerns for the woman's wellbeing after she was seen going through bins at the Stanwell store and was not speaking coherently when she was approached and given water.

Police have been called to find the woman and assess her health.

She was last seen walking west along the highway.

The woman is described to be about 60-years-old, wearing light grey and blue boardshorts, a grey workshirt, hat, dark backpack and another bag.

UPDATE: Police have located the lady that was reportedly walking along the Capricorn Highway.

She was found about 5kms west of Stanwell.
