IS THIS A JOKE? What $1.6 billion buys you at the cricket
THE grand opening of Perth's new $1.6 billion super stadium, the Cray Pot, didn't quite go to plan with Australia losing the fifth ODI of the series against England. But it wasn't the loss that had punters fuming.
From the point of view a spectator, the stadium earned high marks. But for hungry and thirsty fans, the Cray Pot left little to be desired.
Long queues, food and beverage shortages, low-budget food sold at exorbitant prices were just some of the complaints.
'SHENANIGANS': Streaker's 'initiation for new stadium
The "fish burger", snapped up for $12.50 a pop, was to fish fingers with some lettuce. And someone please teach these stadium types to poor beer.
Apparently $1.6 billion can't buy happiness.
The food here is amazing, $12.50 for this delicious fish burger! 😕 pic.twitter.com/dp1EulbzUK

The f&b was a nightmare, so I left early to get some food and avoid the massive train queues. Watched the end on TV.

If staff at Perth Stadium were getting paid $6/hour instead of $26 we too could have such food bargains!! Maybe not worth it?
