LETTERS Collars can only do so much when you have unhappy dog

IT'S great to stop a dog barking with an anti bark collar, but in my experience, anti-bark collars do not help in the long term.

This is because they deal with a symptom and ignore the cause.

Both the cause and the symptom have to be dealt with for a lifetime cure.

I relate it to someone masking a mental health problem with drug use.

After a while the drugs are not as effective and you have to take more powerful ones to deal with the symptom - because the cause is still there.
