Cole Miller's alleged killers have case adjourned

A COURT has adjourned the cases against two young men charged over the one punch attack that led to the death of 18-year-old Cole Miller, who grew up on the Sunshine Coast.

Daniel Jermaine Lee Maxwell, 21, and Armstrong Renata, 22, both face one count of unlawful striking causing death and one count of grievous bodily harm over the incident in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley in early January.

Their cases were mentioned at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

Mr Maxwell, of Tanah Merah, near Logan, and Mr Renata, who is from the Gold Coast, are both behind bars and did not appear at court.

The court heard Mr Maxwell's defence team had received most of the brief of evidence from the prosecution, except for one report.

Mr Maxwell's defence lawyer said the report would be ready this afternoon and the case was adjourned to next week.

Mr Renata's case was adjourned until later this month for a hand-up committal.

He was ordered to appear via video link.
