Coast man charged over sex offences, some involving children

A SUNSHINE Coast man has been charged for a string of sex offences, including three involving children, dating back more than 25 years.

Detectives from the Sunshine Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a Buderim man with the historical sex offences following an incident which occurred on Hinchinbrook Island in 1991.

The 58-year-old man is charged with three counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16, four counts of indecent assault and one count of attempted rape.

He is scheduled to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on August 14.
