Club challenge teaches Ipswich team valuable lessons

TOP Tennis Academy Ipswich played it's second club challenge against Focus Tennis Academy Redcliffe on Sunday, travelling up together by bus as a team.

Top Tennis Academy's head coach Leon Glinster and Focus Tennis Academy's Head Coach Chris Novak were pleased with the efforts of both clubs' juniors and the progression of the players' ability levels, which showed in some close results.

This was displayed with some of our green ball players using the modified ball, which came down to a draw, five-sets-all, 39-games-all.

Top Tennis Academy's elite juniors pushed Redcliffe's teams, showing good determination against players three years their senior.

Our coaches showed off their playing skills, taking the win five sets to four in a hard battle against Focus Tennis Academy.

After a great day of tennis enjoyed by both senior and junior players, the Redcliffe based team took out the day, using their home court advantage of hard court and synthetic grass courts. Both clubs look forward to next year when Top Tennis Academy hosts the challenge at the George Alder Tennis Centre clay court facility.
