City Pride finds your Booval Fair faves

TO HELP celebrate the City Pride campaign all this month, the QT wants your opinion on who you like to do business with across Ipswich.

We asked our Facebook fans for their opinion on which of the retailers at Booval Fair is their favourite and yet again, you didn't hold back in sharing your favourites.

Thanks to plenty of support from eager Facebookers, Gaye's Hair Fashions got the majority of the votes, followed by a whole spectrum of retailers selling everything from Asian food to video games.

Pauline Bertram is the manager of the salon and says that customer service and focus is the secret to happy customers.

"I've been here for 15 years, and the salon for more than 20 years, and we've got clients who have been coming here for a long, long time,” Pauline said. "We make sure that the customer is number one from the minute they walk through that door, and that's why they come back.

"Supporting local businesses like Gaye's means you are keeping locals in jobs, and I have seven staff here who rely on that support to keep them in a job, which is why we are so excited that Booval Fair shoppers put us high up on the list.

"We love being part of Booval Fair; this is a great neighbourhood centre that has grown with the surrounding suburbs, and it still feels like that. I'd say to other businesses to invest in your staff and always look after your customers.”

Do you want to win $5000 just for supporting local businesses like the ones at Booval Fair?

This is your FINAL WEEK to get your entries in for the big draw, where one lucky local will walk away with $5000 to spend at participating City Pride businesses.

You can drop off your entry forms in the barrels at Riverlink in the Food Court, outside Woolworths at Brassall Shopping Centre, or drop them in to the Queensland Times in West Ipswich.

You can also post your entries to City Pride Contest, The Queensland Times, 260 Brisbane St, West Ipswich, Qld, 4305.

Every shopping dollar you spend in Ipswich means you are supporting local business and if you win, you can spend that money at any participating City Pride businesses, so the choice is yours!

City Pride - it's all about supporting our local family owned businesses and winning a stack of cash!

Who will get your vote next?

You can take part in our call-out for the next category, so make sure you follow the QT on Facebook and vote in our next "City Pride” top 10. Share your opinions Ipswich!
